The Gas Restoration Supervisor oversees and coordinates all work to restore municipality and customer properties following gas distribution and construction work.Responsible for overseeing the paving, concrete, and landscaping work plans with the overall master schedule to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all gas distribution and construction projects. Ensure that the Company and State Policies are adhered to.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises paving coordinators who will report directly to the Supervisor, Gas Restoration.
- Supports all gas operations in the prudent scheduling of contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective restoration.
- Interacts with contractors, city and state officials, customers and district personnel to resolve restoration-related issues.
- Ensures adherence to all applicable restoration contracts.
- Performs Off Hour Coverage when necessary.
- Ability to become Operator Qualified in all gas operations under the requirements of the D.O.T.(Department of Transportation).
- Supports paving, concrete and landscaping requirements generated by both Capital and maintenance work across the state for Gas Operations.
- Must be able to wear required PPE in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Ability to supervise paving coordinators and external resources throughout restoration process.
- Requires working and technical knowledge of specific distribution construction standards, regulations and Company Operating and maintenance procedures.
- Requires project and schedule management skills including computerized work and materials management and scheduling tools.
- Requires communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel.)
- Working knowledge of Maximo and PowerBI.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, related discipline or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of general construction and paving experience. Utility restoration experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid motor vehicle license is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications.
Working Conditions:
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing.
- Ability to work in active construction work zones and in close proximity to heavy machinery.
- Drives to various job site locations and customer premises to supervise work, and review or discuss construction job requirements.
- Ability to work extended day and weekends when required.
- Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel as necessary across MA, CT, NH
