Meter Consultant (Hybrid Schedule)

Develops, maintains, reviews, and provides information in support of Metering Operations, Meter Engineering, Billing, and associated departments. Troubleshoot a variety of issues related to the metering process and make recommendations to management. Analyzes existing work practices to support effective field and system operations.

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change

Develops, maintains, reviews, and provides information in support of Metering Operations, Meter Engineering, Billing, and associated departments. Troubleshoot a variety of issues related to the metering process and make recommendations to management. Analyzes existing work practices to support effective field and system operations.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide analytical and technical support for daily work processes and metering‑related projects across the entire Eversource territory.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of metering, billing, and process‑related issues and make recommendations to management.
  • Analyze existing work practices to support efficient field operations and system performance.
  • Interact with customers, as needed, to support special projects, billing inquiries, and metering‑related concerns.
  • Develop customer, regulatory, and internal responses, as well as training materials, in support of Metering Operations.
  • Support Meter Engineering with daily tasks, including technical reviews and work order processes.
  • Recommend, implement, and oversee process improvement initiatives within Metering Operations.
  • Provide support for Meter Operations and the electric meter laboratory, as required.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations related to metering equipment, installations, and configurations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve results and influence outcomes through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a network of key contacts across the organization to improve coordination and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, monitor, and submit reports and compliance filings for the DPUC, ISO‑NE, and other external agencies, as assigned.
  • Participate in storm restoration activities, as required.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Working knowledge of metering concepts, operating procedures, and associated metering systems.
  • Proficiency with PCs and standard computer applications.
  • Working knowledge of C2, FieldNet, and SAP is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to develop and maintain macros, are preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and the ability to assume a leadership role when appropriate.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience:  

  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience with a strong emphasis on:
    • Electric metering systems
    • Reviewing electrical one-line diagrams
    • Performing electrical power calculations
    • Supporting computer software applications related to metering.

$98,410.00-$109,340.00
