In this Energy Efficiency role, you will support delivery of Eversource’s Residential Home Energy Performance Program (HEP) and Residential New Construction (RNC) programs, helping customers adopt energy-efficient solutions through a collaborative, statewide approach. You will ensure programs are customer-focused, cost-effective, and aligned with regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
Role Overview
This position plays a key role in helping customers and market partners realize the benefits of energy efficiency, including improved affordability, enhanced building performance, and market transformation.
The Energy Efficiency Consultant (EEC) supports both retrofit and new construction programs by:
- Assisting customers with home energy assessments, weatherization, and incentive programs
- Promoting high-performance building practices in new construction
- Collaborating with internal teams, vendors, NHSaves utilities, and external stakeholders
- Supporting program delivery, participation, and continuous improvement
Within the Residential New Construction (RNC) program, this role focuses on advancing energy-efficient building design and construction practices. The EEC works closely with builders, developers, architects, and HERS raters to incorporate efficiency measures early in the design phase and ensure successful project completion. This includes supporting ENERGY STAR® Homes, and above-code programs, while helping to grow participation and transform the residential construction market.
Within the Home Energy Performance (HEP) program, this role focuses on advancing energy efficiency improvements in existing homes through comprehensive home energy assessments and retrofit solutions. The EEC works closely with homeowners and contractors, to identify cost-effective weatherization measures and other efficiency opportunities. This includes promoting whole-home performance approaches, increasing customer adoption of recommended measures, and ensuring projects are completed to program standards. The role supports increased participation, enhanced customer experience, and improved energy savings while helping to transform the existing residential housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide customers, contractors, and vendors on energy-efficient technologies and program participation
- Review and approve moderately complex projects, including energy modeling and technical documentation
- Coordinate activities across customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and program guidelines
- Support budgeting, invoicing, tracking of expenses, and energy savings
- Assist with RFP development and program process improvements
- Provide customer support and issue resolution
- Build and maintain relationships with builders, developers, HERS raters, and trade allies
- Track and manage project pipelines
- Interpret and communicate program requirements, energy codes, and industry standards
- Maintain accurate program records and tracking systems
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Aggregate and analyze data from multiple sources (CRM systems, audit tools, Excel, billing data)
- Use Power BI to model, transform, and visualize data into actionable insights
- Develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs, program performance, and customer trends
- Merge and cleanse datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve program delivery and energy savings
- Present insights clearly to internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Sustainability, Environmental or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience & Skills:
- Five (5) plus years in energy efficiency, project management, technical sales, or related field
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on Power BI experience (DAX, dashboards, data modeling)
- Experience integrating and cleaning data across systems
- Familiarity with energy modeling tools (REM/Rate, Ekotrope) and utility programs preferred
- Knowledge of energy codes (IECC, ENERGY STAR® Homes) is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results
Working Conditions
- Office and field-based work, including customer site visits
- Travel required within NH, with occasional travel to MA or CT
- Participation in emergency restoration assignments as needed
