An entry level job within the Electric Distribution Designer progression. Provides the incumbent with experience and training necessary for advancement to the Electric Distribution Designer 2 level. Duties include field and design work associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Company’s electrical distribution system. Ability to effectively work and communicate with people both internal and external to the Company.
Starting Rate of Pay: $35.48/hourly and progresses in accordance with the union contract ($35.48, $38.54, $41.59, $44.91, $48.24)
Experience:
Successful completion of on-the job training of an Electric Distribution Designer 3L which
normally takes 6 months, or equivalent level of related work experience. (A Bachelor's degree in
Engineering or Engineering Technology meets the experience requirement)
Knowledge/Skills:
- A Working knowledge of electrical and construction nomenclature equipment and procedures.
- Capable of accurately interpreting blueprints and company circuit maps
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Effective computer skills.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code as it pertains to Eversource service requirements. Knowledge of
- the National Electric Code as it pertains to service installations and customer requirements, and
- knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code as it pertains to the Eversource distribution system.
- Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Candidates must successfully pass the TECH Test.
