Eversource is looking for a Manager, Project Planning and Scheduling. In this role you would be responsible for the group that provides leadership, tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively plan and schedule complex electric power infrastructure projects for the Transmission Organization. This position is responsible to oversee project planning and scheduling throughout entire project life cycle (initiating, planning, executing controlling and close out) of projects managed by the Transmission Organization. Responsible for monthly project performance tracking and reporting within established project schedule milestones, focusing on accuracy of the schedule network logic, critical paths, schedule risk identification, and schedule forecasting.   The role will be responsible for of a variety of complex reports and analyses in support of Eversource’s projects and capital program. Responsible to streamline the scheduling process of using Primavera, ensuring the process is followed throughout Eversource’s Transmission Organization.  The Manager Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling plays a lead role in ensuring adherence to Eversource’s policies, procedures, and standards. As manager of the Planners, Schedulers and Analysts your role includes the responsibility to assign work allocation, training, and problem resolution.  Also responsible for performance evaluation and recommendations for personnel actions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

Essential Functions: 

Project Scheduling

  • Works with various departments including but not limited to Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Contract Administration, Procurement, Materials Management, Construction Vendors to ensure overall consistency of schedules are in alignment with corporate goals and strategies. 
  • Ensures that Transmission’s processes and procedures are aligned with corporate requirements, updating, improving and incorporating lessons learned.

Project Schedule Analytics

  • Oversees and applies project analytics to schedule data to describe, predict, and improve business performance. Creates project reports to recommend action or to guide decision making rooted in capital program management performance improvement.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all scheduling information including confirmation that schedules have been properly coded.
  • Oversees the production of required schedule reports and variances, and maintenance of base line the change control process.
  • Monitors project costs and commitment to budget and forecast for cost loading.
  • Reviews, evaluates and reports on trends and their impact on project schedules.
  • Assesses progress measurement and develops and updates progress curves for progress reporting.
  • Presents and discusses schedule information, and maintains good working relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and the management team.
  • Plans, assigns provides the quality control checks of work of team members.
  • Creates and maintains project level KPIs and project statistics reports.
  • Establishes and implements improvements to existing methods and procedures.
  • Establishes new reporting formats and templates in compliance with company and external stakeholder requirements.

Risk Identification/Assessment

  • Oversees the analyses of project and capital program schedules to assist for scheduling risk area (such as challenges in material delivery, task completion and outage scheduling).
  • Oversees the integrated scheduling process to see project conflicts and conflict with other work Eversource is performing in the same ROW corridor or substation location.

Project Change Control Management Process

  • Manages project change control process.  Ensures Project baselines in schedule data are established and is monitored against actual project performance. 

Manage Stakeholder Capital Program and Project Level Reporting

  • Manages and keeps current Eversource Management’s project schedule reporting ensuring compliance across Transmission Projects Organization and consistent with Transmission Projects Organization’s and Corporate’s processes and procedures

Employee Development and Training

  • Oversee the development of Planning & Scheduling team. Develops a mindset of ownership and employee accountability for outcomes for consistent level of productivity and quality of work.
  • Manage performance by reviewing and evaluating work of employees. Build consensus and communicates performance measures and expected performance levels. Assesses and improves team and employee performance through coaching.
  • Drive and participate in continuous learning efforts (onboarding, training).

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Understands project management and project scheduling theories and methodologies. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree will be considered; MBA or equivalent education highly desirable.                         

Experience:

  • 10 to 12 years of related experience preferred with (5) years’ experience minimum as a Project Manager, accountant, financial business analysts in a business involved with managing large complex multi-year projects is desirable.  Working knowledge of Oracle’s Primavera software and Unifier Project Controls or other project Management Information Systems is highly desirable.
  • 3.-5 years of prior managerial experience is highly desirable.                               

Licenses & Certifications:

  • PMP preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing, typing and communicating.

Mental Aspects:

  • This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities where deadlines need to be met and work is performed sometimes under pressure while involving business commitments and results. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within the organization and be able to recognize and work with sensitive and confidential information.

Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
