Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Our Load Settlement Planning and Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and coordinating applicable business processes necessary to successfully satisfy reporting duties of the Load Settlement Group including the ISO-NE wholesale electricity markets, regulatory and legislative orders, and ad-hoc initiatives on behalf of all Eversource electric companies. Employees can be in CT, MA and NH, so some travel is required.
You will also assist management in identifying, developing, and implementing the required tools, processes, and applications necessary to support this area of work. Supervisors will interact with both internal and external groups to identify regulatory and legislative initiatives and industry trends that may impact Eversource’s ISO-NE reporting. Will proactively work with the Manager and team to evaluate and implement new processes, or software, that will affect the Load Settlement groups.
Essential Functions:
- Has detailed understanding of the data and data systems used by LS (Load Settlement) to satisfy their reporting requirements in accordance with defined Department policies and procedures, and overall Eversource goals and objectives:
- Ensures timely and accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ISO-NE and other key stakeholders (i.e., FERC, state regulators, and competitive suppliers) concerning load, tie line, and generation assets, in accordance with the ISO-NE published deadlines and Operating Procedures or other Regulatory directives.
- Provides accurate metering and billing data to ISO-NE, suppliers, and other parties both internal and external to Eversource, as related to the FERC or Legislative reporting.
- Operates or oversees the Load Settlement System including updating of the model to incorporate new suppliers, generators and changes in electric system configuration and operation, as related to the FERC or Legislative reporting.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of a capable and motivated workforce.
- Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained in accordance with approved policies and procedures as they relate to the business function, including Sarbanes Oxley procedures and controls.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, legislation, and regulatory activity pertinent to the business area and reports on significant developments in energy utilization, legislative, or federal and local regulatory enactments related to load settlement practices and/or technologies.
- Represents the group and works collaboratively in discussions with internal parties, including, but not limited to Interconnections, Meter Engineering, Energy Efficiency, Rates and Legal, on topics related to new initiatives requiring input from Load Settlement beyond standard ISO-NE reporting (e.g., renewables, battery storage, advanced metering, etc.).
- Supports the planning, testing and implementation of software requirements necessary to satisfy/maintain LS Planning activities.
- Works with management and LS Supervisors to plan, evaluate, determine requirements and implement work initiatives for current and future regulatory or legislative initiatives.
- Planning to support regulatory initiatives including providing technical expertise, testifying, preparing, and reviewing data requests for regulatory proceedings pertaining to load estimation and reconciliation processes, procedures and techniques, and new initiatives that are being addressed as part of regulatory or legislative dockets.
- Operations role provides technical expertise, testifying, preparing and reviewing data requests for regulatory proceedings pertaining to Eversource load estimation and reconciliation processes, procedures and techniques that are related to the standard ISO-NE load or retail capacity reporting process.
- Assists in the development and administration of the LSA Department’s operating budget.
- Prepares and presents, as needed, detailed reports and presentations tailored to specific audiences which may include statistical summaries and graphical representations through text, tables, and charts.
- Plays a significant role within the organization by providing ad hoc, detailed information targeted to specific projects and to refine/build infrastructure around existing practices for value-added customer services.
- Shares the role as Eversource representative on the ISO-NE Meter Reader Working group with the Supervisor, Load Settlement-Operations. Interacts with other New England Transmission Owners to share industry best practices.
