Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence- Electric Operations (Hybrid Schedule)

Locations: East Berlin, Connecticut

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.









This position is responsible for creating and maintaining performance measurements, reporting and analyses to enable corporate and business area leaders with the decision support information needed to meet their goals. This includes collaboration with various stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements through analytical solutions and reports. Responsibilities include data analysis, development of new tools, reports, data solutions, and processes to align strategy and vision across multiple regions and companies.



Essential Functions:  


  • Implements data solutions to support business requirements and ensure solutions follow industry’s best practices and security standards. 
  • Data Analysis: Perform complex and in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to electric operations and performance metrics. 
  • Power BI Reporting: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders. 
  • Review, analyze and consolidate data from multiple disparate sources including writing SQL queries and creating custom tools. 
  • Collects performance data and information from a variety of sources and keeps all data collection tools organized and updated throughout the year.  Reviews and assures data quality on a regular basis, taking steps to correct data or processes as needed. 
  • Prepare reports and presentations for all levels of management, including the Senior Leadership Team. 
  • Conducts research to identify best practices and performance comparisons.  Involves utilizing existing/available benchmarking opportunities from external parties and creating new Company-sponsored surveys.  Outreaches to benchmarking partners at other utilities or industries.  Locates, validates and inputs Company data and information into surveys, and creates presentations and analytics as part of comparative assessments used in communicating the results of research or surveys. 
  • Performance Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency. 

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill: 

  • Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in the electric or energy industry. 
  • Proficiency in Power BI for report development and data visualization. 
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems. Ability to create/manage Power BI reports, and associated programming languages (Power Query, DAX, Sql, Phyton or similar programming ability) is highly desirable. Experience in writing SQL is strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress independently and produce accurate work. 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. 

Education:          

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics,  or related quantitative field.

Experience: 

  • At least 5-8 years related experience. 

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Drivers License required.

  • Working Conditions: 
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. 
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$115,730.00-$128,590.00
