Role and Scope of Position:The Regulatory Financial Analyst is responsible for financial aspects of the Company’s transmission service, including transmission tariff and wholesale transmission/distribution contract billing, accounting and regulatory reporting for all Eversource Operating Companies. The Analyst is also responsible for FERC regulatory reporting. In this role, the Analyst will collaborate with the Company’s various internal and external business customers.
HYBRID WORK POLICY
Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Essential Functions:
Prepares revenue requirements associated with transmission/distribution contract rate calculations and associated development and support of contract regulatory filings.
Prepares monthly billings related to transmission/distribution contract rates, transmission tariffs and other monthly billings and processes timely through the transmission billing system.
Responsible for monthly billing analysis and journal entries related to monthly billing calculations.
Prepares assigned FERC Form 3-Q/1, 582 and Electronic Quarterly Reporting and related financial analysis associated with transmission service contracts and agreements.
Responsible for associated journal entries and financial statement reconciliations.
Communicates with customers and responsible for handling customer matters as they arise.
Reviews and verifies monthly billing received from other entities, including ISO-NE, and process timely payments in Maximo.
Monitors customer’s accounts receivable status to identify any late payments.
Prepares forecasts for annual budget and regulatory filings.
Identify opportunities in areas of responsibilities to reduce redundancies, enhance efficiencies, leverage new technologies and provide consistency.
Provides financial analytical support to the Transmission Interconnection group, serving as a trusted business advisor.
Collaborates effectively with several key business areas, such as but not limited to Legal, Transmission Interconnections, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, e.g., and directs a variety of transmission related regulatory financial activities.
Responsible for the aggregation, research, and resolution of Department issues, including effective communication with the Manager on key issues, impediments, and progress.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Strong knowledge of finance, accounting or other related disciplines. Understanding of utility accounting and regulatory framework is preferred.
Detail oriented and the ability to be thorough and precise.
Ability to multi-task and shift among competing priorities.
Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work across functional / organizational boundaries.
Strong technical skills including MS Office applications and various financial systems.
Support innovation; continually and consistently challenge the status quo.
Possess a high degree of initiative and ownership.
Contribute to a collaborative and positive work atmosphere in a team environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other associated degree.
Experience:
Three (3) or more years of related experience
Utility industry finance experience preferred
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Nature of work is driven by accounting close schedule, rate calculation and certification deadlines.
