2026 Summer Intern, IT Security

Responsible for supporting the development and testing of compliance automation use cases using scripting tools and an RPA platform. The intern will focus on translating defined compliance and control-testing scenarios into automated workflows. They will learn RPA concepts, building workflows, testing and debugging automations, and documenting results to support IT security and compliance initiatives.
Essential Functions
Learns and applies core Robotic Process Automation (RPA) concepts
Assists in the design, development, and testing of RPA workflows based on defined compliance use cases
Builds automation workflows to support IT security and compliance control testing activities
Performs functional testing and debugging of RPA workflows to identify and resolve errors or failures
Documents workflow logic, assumptions, test results, and known limitations
Collaborates with IT Security and Compliance team to refine requirements and improve automation reliability
Communicates issues, findings, and progress updates clearly to various stakeholders
Gains familiarity with how automation supports IT controls, audit evidence generation, and compliance objectives
Technical Knowledge
Foundational understanding of programming concepts (logic, variables, loops, conditionals)
Conceptual understanding of automation workflows and process logic
Familiarity (academic or practical) with automation or scripting tools, such as:
UiPath
Microsoft Power Automate
AutoIt
Python or PowerShell
Basic understanding of:
Windows OS
File systems and applications
User access and credentials concepts
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow structured requirements and translate them into technical workflows
Attention to detail and focus on accuracy and repeatability
Ability to debug issues by isolating root causes
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and ability to learn new tools and technical concepts quickly
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
