This position is responsible for the implementation, development, and oversight of the commercial and industrial “C&I”, energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives in MA & NH. Specifically, this position manages the small business initiative, municipal initiatives, and other targeted contractor driven, also known as “turn-key”, efforts. This position is responsible for contractor management, oversight, coordination with various internal partners, stakeholders, and project development efforts, with the goal of customer C & I initiative project development, implementation, verification of established program protocols and procedures, and ensuring an exceptional customer participation experience. The position is also responsible for the management and oversight the C & I efficiency portfolio as it relates to turn-key efforts, including progress to internal performance metrics and goals, comprehensive energy efficiency measure projects, meeting established program budgets, and costs achievement of corporate financial goals. Broadening the reach of energy efficiency, sustainability, carbon reduction initiatives to eligible customers, growing the energy efficiency eco-system, and implementing innovative technologies, through turn-key initiatives is a critical responsibility for this position. Establishing and fostering industry alliances with trade organizations, manufacturers, and engineering partners to foster the use of emerging technologies and high efficiency equipment and strategies within the turn-key initiatives. The position requires collaboration with communities to coordinate turn-key initiative equity targets within the initiatives such as Main Streets, as well as key internal business partners, including peers in evaluation, regulatory, engineering, marketing, channel, and sales. This position is responsible for MA and NH PA coordination and representation on CI management groups and coordination with various CI EE stakeholders.
Hiring Manager: Director, Energy Efficiency
Essential Functions
- Oversees the delivery, implementation and management of the small business, medium, and municipal energy efficiency initiative portfolios in MA and NH
- Responsible for contracted energy service company management and oversight to ensure key performance metrics are achieved while providing exceptional customer energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives participation experience
- Achieve C&I energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reducing contractor performance goals, KPIs, and other company objectives within a defined and established budget for turn-key programs in multiple states,
- Provide strategic direction, coaching, and professional development for a team of Energy Efficiency Consultants that fosters a clear understanding of team objectives, collaboration, and growth,
- Implements turn-key initiatives to enter high-potential markets with energy efficiency services that provide customer-focused solutions, meet customer requirements, and achieve energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiative goals,
- Collaborate and coordinate with external and internal business partners to advance pertinent innovation and new technology opportunities in initiative offerings,
- Coordinates with other MA and NH program administrators as well as key stakeholders in each state
- Represents the Company and ensures efficient and effective coordination of energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction issues between the Company and its regulatory representatives
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- An understanding of the regulatory process and environment, including the regulatory filing process
- Knowledge of commercial/industrial building systems, energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction strategies, marketing principles, and market research techniques
- Analytical mindset and a drive for continuous improvement
- Experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written correspondence and presentations
Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Ten (10) plus years of experience effectively managing a team and demonstrated ability to meet challenging KPIs and production targets,
- Five (5) plus years of experience effectively directing contractors or external partners to ensure consistency in adhering to program guidelines, procedures & protocols, and implementation schedules,
Licenses & Certifications:
- Certified Energy Manager preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
- The annual salary range for this position is $143,000 - $159,000 plus incentive.
