This position is accountable for the planning, development and design of the electrical distribution system.  Individual will monitor and direct engineers, engineering technicians, mappers and field technicians to ensure uniform management of field engineering, system design and specifications, creating an environment that will enable the success of the team, and provide training for Field Engineering personnel as required.  Other responsibilities include:  improving system reliability and financial performance; ensuring action plans and status reports are prepared; ensuring proper design compliance with regulatory, technical and company standards  ; participating on engineering teams designing major projects; and reviewing and approving major projects as needed, across the operating company; identifying training needs and providing development opportunities; developing short to mid-term action plans and status reports on the electrical distribution system; monitoring the costs of field activities; and collating and analyzing performance and giving feedback to field teams.  Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is required.  An advanced degree and Professional Engineer License is helpful.  A minimum of ten (10) years of related distribution engineering experience is required.  Supervisory experience is also required.  Additional requirements include: a strong working knowledge of distribution systems including field engineering, substations and system planning; and knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulation affecting the design of the distribution system.  A valid motor vehicle operator's license is also required.


Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment.  This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
