Data Analyst/ Power BI developer is responsible for directly supporting execution of the Company’s implementation plans related to modernization of the design and operation of the Company’s electric distribution system. We are looking for a Data Analyst with strong Power BI experience that is a motivated individual with experience in the design, development, and testing of Power BI reports and dashboards. In this position you will be focused on data visualization, dashboards, reports, KPI scorecards, maps, and DAX and SQL queries.

Essential Functions: 

  • Work collaboratively across the organization to collect and analyze the requirements for the reports and dashboards.
  • Design, create prototypes, develop, deploy, and support Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Publish and schedule Power BI reports and data sources.
  • Create the design methodology and project documentation.
  • Review, analyze and consolidate data from multiple disparate sources including writing SQL queries.
  • Respond to feedback from users regarding dashboards and reports.
  • Reverse-engineer and troubleshoot existing reports and dashboards implementations.
  • Provide support for the data maintenance and data quality effort.
  • Support internal and external tracking and reporting requirements associated with grid modernization programs, including reporting of metrics related to the achievement of project benefits.
  • Will be required to support Emergency Restoration efforts throughout the Eversource service territory.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Thorough understanding of programming languages (SQL), databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Access), demonstrated competency and proficiency in oral and written communications. 


  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent discipline (MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred).


  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an analyst or BI developer with writing and debugging SQL queries.
  • Experience in Power BI administration and/or SharePoint is a plus.
  • Design and develop ETL solutions (using Informatica and/or FME) for BI reporting is a plus.
  • Prior experience within the electrical utility industry is preferred. 

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
